Red tailed bumble bee (Bombus lapidarius)

This was the biggest bumble bee I had ever seen and it was struggling to get back in the air with those small wings. It looked more like it should be hanging from a cord on a cars rear view mirror. I love the clarity of it's eyes. If you want quality macro shots the Canon 100mm 2.8 macro lens will blow you away. Especially when combined with a ring flash.

Taken with Canon 1000D and Canon 100mm f2.8 macro lens
and a Marumi ring flash
