Chicken of the woods (Laeptiporus sulphureus)

This is a picture I took some time ago with my Panasonic FZ7 and is just a small portion of a very large specimen of this fungi. It is one of my favourites and not very often seen. This was taken on a huge section of an oak tree that was cut down and left to rot. Goes to show that life goes on and feeds off death with vigour. This then goes on to feed others as this is supposedly a very tasty fungi with a texture similar to that of chicken.
