Shaggy Inkcap (Coprinus comatus)

Also known as 'Lawyers Wig' the inkcap is name because it effectively disolves from the bottom up dripping an ink type liquid as you can see in the picture until it has almost no cap at all. This can happen over just a few days. And of course it has a shaggy look about it too. If you find one of these in an open field you will usually see several of them in different stages of decay either singley or in groups. Well worth loking out for. Found yet again at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire, England.

Taken with a Canon 600D and Canon 100mm 2.8 macro lens.
