March flies (Bibio marci)

Here are two pictures of male March Flies. They have eyes that meet whereas the females eyes do not meet. They can be seen in  swarms in springtime and look a bit clumbersome. On closer inspection I personally think they are so much more atttractive than your standard fly to the point of looking almost majestic.
